Spirit moving sheep off the hay field

can you dig it ???

We were hit hard by this last storm. Another 18 or so inches on top of the eight that we had the day before. Other than celebrating Deigh's birthday, most of the weekend was spent digging out from under it.

We have some huge eight foot or better plies of snow scattered here and there.
Our little tractor did okay but my neighbor Al came up to give us a hand. His bulldozer has been spending the winter up here as we had started on a garage project that has been waylayed due to weather conditions.
Hoping to resume as soon as the weather gets a bit better.

The dogs of course just love all this snow.

Bracken has kept busy making snow angels

Spirit is busy digging out her snow caves.

And the dogs have packed down some nice trails to walk on without crashing knee deep or better into the snow

Yesterday we had such a variable in weather conditions. Blizzard snow one minute, blue sky with fluffy summer like clouds the next. Warm enough to cause steam to rise off the sheep when the sun poked through the clouds. Then back to blowing snow , white out conditions . It did cause for some dramatic sky. Beautiful white snow with a dark angry looking sky in the background as the next squall was making it's approach

Still waiting on the first lambs to arrive. Should be any day. My ewes look huge .

The contractor has been here all day getting the sheetrock up on the kitchen ceiling.
Will need to get some crown molding to finish it off. The outdated paneling on the walls is uneven up where it meets the new sheetrock at the top. It was hidden under the old drop ceiling.

"Every cloud has a silver lining" though,

Yesterday I noticed a male Goldfinch at the feeder looking like he was starting his spring plumage. A little more gold to his feather. Soon he will be canary yellow and full of song. Soon....
